Mooncakes Featuring Renowned Taiwan Ingredients

Among with 3 biggest Chinese holidays, the Mooncake Festival, falling this year on September 22nd, is a time of frenzy as various hotels, restaurants, convenience stores, and dessert shops are all going full speed ahead in producing mooncakes in order to grab a share of the revenue pie. And as the leader of all trends, the ever-changing and innovative Grand Formosa this year presents its popular Traditional Mooncakes and famous Egg Yolk Pastries as well as a whole new line of mooncake treats featuring Taiwan’s local ingredients which comprise the Formosa Mooncakes. Following the push by the government to promote goods that are “MIT” or made in Taiwan, through these creative mooncakes, Grand Formosa spreads this traditional dessert in a never seen before way so that locals and international visitors can admire all that Taiwan has to offer. Grand Formosa this year also presents an explosive Chocolate Custard Mooncake where each mooncake is packed with sauce so that in every bite, you can savor the most satisfying holiday treat.

「Golden Moon—Chocolate Custard Mooncake」is designed by Grand Formosa’s French pastry chef Laurent who was inspired by the new craze of “exploding” desserts on the market. Putting a new spin on Chinese mooncakes by using chocolate as the main ingredient, both the outer layer and filling of the mooncake are made with imported French Michel Cluizel chocolate. The most unique aspect of this creation is the addition of Cantonese style custard for a doubly explosive taste experience full of surprises. Each set comes with 3 different flavored mooncakes so prepare yourself for a stimulation of not just taste but also of sight. Grand Formosa has also gone through extensive lengths to give you another exciting taste experience this Mooncake Festival by incorporating the spirit of “MIT” or made in Taiwan, into a spectacular mooncake selection. Featuring famous ingredients from around Taiwan, enjoy Formosa’s lush bounty with「Moon Gaze—Formosa Mooncakes」which include Jinshan Yam, Nantou Plum, Tainan Mango, Yilan Date, Bulou Rice Wine and Judao Cactus Plant flavored mooncakes. Using Taiwan’s most special produce, celebrate the richness of Taiwan while you engage in your exciting Mooncake Festival celebrations!

Additionally, in acknowledgement of the long history of Grand Formosa’s mooncakes「Drunken Moon—Traditional Mooncakes」 this year take a glimpse at the 20 year Grand Formosa history and go back to the roots to Grand Formosa’s first mooncake set that was crafted in 1993.
