CHOU Chu-Wang(1978－), graduated from the graduate school of Department of Fine Arts, National Kaohsiung Normal University. Living in Pingtung, Taiwan currently.

He started the Naughty series in 2007 and won the Taipei Arts Award at the same year. In this series, Chou presents stark contrasts between children’s angelic features and wicked nature by depicting their love of mischief. He explores children’s bad behavior resulting from imitation in a society that was transforming from rural to urban and where information flowed rapidly. With paintings, three-dimensional imagery, animation and sculptures by Aluminum alloy or stainless steel, this exhibition further develops themes in the Naughty series.

TFAM will hold a press conference at 14: 30pm, Wednesday afternoon, the 22nd June. TFAM director WU, and the artist CHOU will attend the conference to introduce I am a Naughty Boy.

周珠旺，1978年生，畢業自國立高雄師範大學美術研究所，目前於屏東定居創作。


周珠旺以細膩的寫實繪畫與心靈記憶點描的表現手法著稱。他自2007年起開始創作｢猴囝｣系列，並於該年獲｢台北美術獎｣。他幽默詼諧地探討童年內心深處，以天使的容顏、邪惡的本性對比，凸顯現代孩童因社會變遷、鄉村與都市的結構改變，孩童在模仿學習上的淘氣或脫序行為。｢猴囝｣系列的媒材使用，從平面繪畫、動畫、以及不鏽鋼雕塑等作品，在此次個展中都將充分呈現。


北美館將於06月22日(週三)下午2時30分舉辦展覽記者會，北美館館長吳光庭、藝術家將為媒體朋友介紹展覽特色，分享創作心得與過程。
