台北市立美術館一向以打破藝術疆界、推動以新媒材創作的當代藝術展覽為使命，今年特與環境藝術中心共同引進「皮克斯動畫20年」展，由藝術的角度來看皮克斯動畫背後的創作人才、科技及製作過程，呈現出當代藝術的多樣性。

此展自美國紐約現代美術館MoMA 2005年底策畫展出後，已於倫敦、蘇格蘭、芬蘭、日本、韓國及墨西哥等地巡迴，這個暑假終於來到台灣，自 8月7日 起於北美館展出，台北站的巡迴由於後來電影「料理鼠王」、「瓦力」及「天外奇蹟」的加入，更完整的呈現皮克斯工作室結合藝術與科技的成就，展出作品包括繪畫手稿、彩色腳本、3D雕塑、數位裝置等約550件作品。

主辦單位將於 7月31日星期五下午2時整於北美館一樓展場入口處舉辦開箱記者會，「皮克斯動畫20年」的展覽設計師迪安．卡柏將介紹首次在台亮相的毛怪與大眼仔(怪獸電力公司)的實體公仔，並以其資深展覽規劃、設計及教育的經歷，為媒體解說此次台北巡迴站的展覽特色及開箱展品。

It is always the mission of TFAM to break through boundaries of arts and promote new media arts. This summer special, “PIXAR：20 Years of Animation”, introduced by TFAM and Environment Arts Center , will reveal the variety of contemporary artworks. It exhibits the worlds, characters and stories of Pixar’s film - making from the perspectives of aesthetics and arts.



MoMA, New York, launched “PIXAR：20 Years of Animation” at the end of 2005. Since then, the exhibition has travelled to London , Scotland , Japan , Finland , Korea and Mexico , and will open at TFAM this summer on the 7th of August. Incorporated with the artworks about the movies “Ratatouille”、“Wall - E” and “UP”, the Taipei stop will present a more comprehensive profile and achievements of Pixar Animation Studio than ever. Around 550 works, including sketches, storyboards, sculptures and digital artworks will be on display.



An open - crate press conference will be held in the museum on the Friday of 31th, July. DeAnn Cobb, who is responsible for the exhibition design at the Taipei stop and has handled the coordination and education during the exhibition touring, will introduce the debut of Mike and Sully in Taiwan , brief the features and artworks of this exhibit.
