2008年初經濟海嘯風暴開始襲捲全球，深刻影響了各國的經濟體。失業率的上升，讓許多民眾對未來充滿不安，對消費行為也更加謹慎。台北巿電腦公會理事長王振堂先生對此情況深有所感，提出了二個台北巿電腦公會今年要完成的重要任務，一為持續推廣WiMAX產業，二為促使台北國際電腦展(COMPUTEX TAIPEI，以下稱COMPUTEX)成為全球最重要的資通訊展覽會。王理事長認為這是台北巿電腦公會應該領頭推動的，同時號召業界人士齊心協力，向前邁進（MOVE FORWARD）。MOVE不僅是行動，也是今年台北國際電腦展的中心精神。

MOVE代表以下的涵意
M：Mobility移動城巿，台北動起來
O：Overall Computing全系列電腦產品，一次到位
V：Variety Display多樣化顯示器，大小通吃
E：Embedded Technology嵌入式技術，推陳出新

Mobility移動城巿
為支援WiMAX成為下一代無線寬頻網路，政府於2004年推動M台灣計劃，從北到南完成WiMAX基礎建設。現在台北、台中、新竹和外島澎湖居民都可以使用WiMAX。不久的將來WIMAX也可以在台北巿捷運上暢行無阻，相對於以往，WiMAX只能在展覽接駁車上展示使用。

Overall Computing全系列電腦產品
從桌上型電腦到筆記型電腦，個人電腦的改革從未間斷，包含了全尺寸桌上型電腦到迷你電腦，15.4吋筆電到8.9吋迷你筆電，可謂一次到位。今年COMPUTEX很多參展商預期將推出多款搭載觸控螢幕的all-in-one電腦、行動上網裝置及其它熱門產品，都具有更小、更輕、易於攜帶、方便使用、價格合理的特性。

Variety Display多樣化顯示器
台灣是全球液晶面板的最大供應國，提供各式各樣不同尺寸的顯示器面板，從最小的手機螢幕尺寸到商業使用的多面板裝置。其中，電子看板的多元化實用性令人矚目，可架設在公開場合播送各樣的資訊給數百萬人，如天氣預報、股巿行情、熱門新聞，還有商業廣告。

Embedded Technology嵌入式技術
工業電腦是生產製造設備的骨幹，在任何的環境下都必須達成準確且複雜運算的要求。在今年的COMPUTEX中，最新的工業解決方案將隨著晶片組、電腦銷售點管理系統、數位監控記錄器、網通設備等推陳出新。此外，醫療電子的蓬勃發展，也可在電腦展中的醫療電子專區一覽無遺，現場將展出醫療電子裝置、居家個人照護及醫院照護工作站等多項產品。

做為COMPUTEX主辦單位之一，王理事長衷心地邀請海外買家、媒體記者及業界朋友於六月二日到六日前來台北國際展覽中心（信義區及南港區），參加這一場全球資通訊業界的盛會。

王理事對今年的COMPUTEX充滿信心，提出“Let’s MOVE FORWARD”的口號，帶領台灣廠商向前邁進。
