巴爾戈丘位於澳洲西澳省的東北方，地形遍佈沙漠、沙丘與紅土，這個地區的地理位置以及傳說故事，不僅對遠在台灣的我們、甚至是澳洲當地，都像是一個遙遠的世界。此次來自巴爾戈丘的藝術巡迴展將用26件該地當代原住民的創作，使用現代的繪畫顏料、近似西方抽象的形式，描繪出這塊土地上，遠古創世之夢的故事。

北美館將於 1月22日(五)下午14：00舉辦記者會，北美館館長謝小韞連同澳大利亞商工辦事處副代表共同為媒體介紹巴爾戈丘的原住民藝術特色，澳洲原住民舞團Nunukul Yuggera也將於現場擔任開場表演，以舞蹈、歌聲展現澳洲原住民文化。

The small community of Balgo Hills lies in northeast Western Australia , covered with arid desert, sand hills and red earth. This region is most often simply called ‘remote’ to the rest of the world, and the majority of Australia . This touring exhibition of 26 artworks is trying to convey important Dreaming stories and tribal law. They were made by contemporary Indigenous peoples of Australia , using modern media, and in a style that seemed to recall Western modernist abstraction.
