2008年印度台灣工業展」
展現產業堅強實力 精彩落幕
【9月14日外貿協會訊】由外貿協會所屬台北世界貿易中心(TWTC)與台灣區電機電子工業同業公會(TEEMA)共同主辦的第二屆「印度台灣工業展(TAITRONICS INDIA)」，於9月13日圓滿閉幕。為期三天的展覽會共湧入逾6,000人次，參展廠商應接不暇。
台灣積極推動的「南向政策」搭上印度的「東向政策」，使本展獲得雙方政府高度重視。台灣駐新德里台北經濟文化中心代表翁文祺、經濟部國際貿易局局長黃志鵬，皆專程到場助陣，印度坦米爾那都(Tamil Nadu)州政府也派遣多位高層到場觀展，其中IT部長Dr. Chandramouli IAS更在會場上釋放利多消息，指出坦州正考慮籌劃台灣特別經濟區，專供中小企業及廠商進駐投資，另也將針對欲前往投資設廠的台商設立單一窗口，以便利、促進兩地商機和交流。
本屆展覽共吸引80家國內外廠商參展，展出120個攤位，眾星雲集，展示電機、電子、機械、汽機車零配件及手工具等產業最先進、優良的技術與產品。以製造CNC單軸五刀自動車床及電腦車床為主的名陽機械為例，攤位上鎂光燈閃爍不停，獲得當地媒體廣泛報導。另，以生產各類鎖頭聞名的詠悅公司，與天麗工業更深獲買主青睞，當場接獲訂單。同時，國內廠商如：錦富機械、詠悅公司、廣隆光電、百樂電池，與東通、EMC、HP等國際大廠紛紛表達明年繼續參展的意願。
主辦單位在展覽期間特別安排了60餘場的一對一貿易洽談會，滿足買主採購需求，攤位上洽談情景熱絡、成效顯著，不僅替業者開創商機，同時提供雙方合作投資及技術交流的絕佳機會。來自InfoStee Technology Pvt., Ltd.執行長Mr. KS Dorai Arasu對去年本展首次展出即留下深刻印象，並表示台灣產品設計新穎、品質精良且價格合理，是採購的首選，所以此次專程從班加洛來發掘新產品，也期待明年再次前來參觀採購。
另外，看準台灣ICT的產業優勢與印度對於家電、IT、通訊等消費性電子產品的強大需求，主辦單位於展覽期間舉辦ICT論壇，邀請當地近100名重要的電子業者參加，使其深入了解台灣ICT產業於國際市場上的利基點，促進台印雙方投資合作的無限可能，多數參加者紛紛表示獲益良多。
本次展覽無論參展廠商、參觀人潮或現場買氣都符合業者期望，外貿協會已決定將續辦第3屆「印度台灣工業展」，預計展出規模將持續擴大，逐步提升該展成為印度最重要之B2B平台，歡迎買主與業者屆時再度光臨。

8213肢體舞蹈劇場『無國界：我的天堂』Boundless: My Bliss即將演出，我們將於9月17日(星期三) 下午1:00舉行彩排記者會。懇請各位記者朋友撥冗前來。
在去年初秋，8213肢體舞蹈劇場團長孫梲泰找來從演員跨足編導的劇場導演張育嘉合作無國界演出。看似粗獷的孫梲泰其實敏感，看似少跟筋的張育嘉，對舞台有著自己獨到的敏銳。一南一北兩樣化的個性，要如何能夠共同激盪出火花呢？
除了兩位創作者之外，這次的舞者各個大有來頭。8213肢體舞蹈劇場今年在法國大張旗鼓辦了甄選會，來了兩百多名舞者，甄選了三天，才從所有舞者中挑出了德國籍的Manon Greiner。Manon說：「我是專程從德國飛到法國去甄選的喔！」而台灣舞者薛欣宜，是武術長才。個頭嬌小卻力道十足，武術實力是可以入選國家代表的。陳星合舞蹈雜耍一把抓，任何球類只要在他身上，就好像似沾了膠一樣的聽話。他是即將來台太陽馬戲團所甄選出來的台灣儲備團員喔！

地球快要爆炸了，據說持有金色護照就能夠得到「天堂」的收容庇護。六個不同世界的人擠在「天堂」裡生活，語言不通、個性不合、文化不同，地球還沒爆炸，他們的頭就快要炸開了。理應純淨的天堂之舞，儼然成了暴力之舞。
遊歷各國、經過一番洗禮的三十型男孫梲泰，這次要認真的搞花樣，
多年小劇場經驗卻還很年輕的新生代編導張育嘉，也準備好大顯身手，
兩人欲聯手打造新天堂，卻遇到一群嘰哩哇啦的老外，
有聽沒有懂的這一群人能夠激盪出什麼火花？

The blissful dance of conflict between the people who are different nationalities and languages
If we didn't speak the same language, could we communicate?
If we came from different countries, would we really stand on the equal level ?
In the purest form of physical communication, dance, is there any difference between you and me?
8213 Physical Dance Theatre's has been spreading recently. It is crossing borders by inviting dancers and production crews from the E.U., the U.S.A. and Taiwan to find its own blissful space.
無國界∣我的天堂 ／ Boundless∣My Bliss
The earth is going to be destroyed. The legend said: those people who hold The Golden Passport will be safe in The Bliss. In the meantime, six people come from different places of The Earth. They come with different languages, characters and cultures, try to put themselves into the Bliss. The Earth doesn't explode yet, they are about to lose their heads… Therefore, THE DANCE OF PURITY is turning into THE DANCE OF VIOLENCE.
Sun Chuo-Tai, a special and energetic man who has traveled through different countries, will show the audience an amazing performance in a full blown production.
Jocelyn Chang, who has worked in avant-garde theatre for many years, is also ready to rise to a new level of directing and playwriting.
The two of them have cooperated to create a new blissful space. In their lives, they have met friends who speak different languages in different places. Now they have invited them to participate in the production.
What's marvel are you going to see?

誤選不適避孕器 小心造成嚴重出血、疼痛急送醫
避孕器因其方便性，一直是產後婦女避孕熱門選項之一。據調查，台灣20至49歲女性中，有近2成婦女以避孕器來避孕，但有些人在裝置之後發現經血增加和經期延長、疼痛，亦有部份女性會引起骨盆腔發炎，嚴重者甚至沾粘或經期大量出血，造成送醫急診之窘境。
台灣婦產科醫學會理事長蔡鴻德醫師表示，避孕器是方便且效果非常好的避孕方式，但由於傳統的含銅避孕器其避孕原理，是利用銅造成組織的發炎反應，讓受精卵無法著床，來達到避孕的效果。對於擁有健康子宮的女性而言，當然不會造成問題，但對原先就有經痛、經血過多或貧血的婦女來說，就反而加鉅了她們的痛苦。此外，對銅過敏或生殖道、骨盆腔易感染的人，更有可能造成沾粘，甚至更嚴重之副作用。
【案例分享】
蔡小姐六年前為了避孕而請醫師裝設了一般(含銅)避孕器，在裝設的頭年，就開始有一連串的不適感。其初總是覺得有異物感，在洗澡時或上廁所時，無意間就會碰到懸吊出來的銅線頭，在經期來前便感到頭昏、肚子悶痛的狀況，在經期第2、3天經血量更是大到嚇人；也帶來陣陣的疼痛，甚至痛到她不得不隨時使用止痛藥來抑制經痛，最嚴重的一次還差點因過度失血及嚴重疼痛而送醫。

U.S. President George Bush is hosting Ghana's President John Kufour on an official state visit to Washington. VOA White House Correspondent Scott Stearns has the story.

President Bush and President Kufour walked through a ceremonial inspection of American troops watched by hundreds of people, many in brightly-colored African cloth.
President Bush says the ties of friendship between Ghana and the United States are strong and enduring.
"Today, Ghana and America are still bound by our love for liberty, and we stand as one in our efforts to safeguard that freedom. Ghana and America stand as one as we work to secure freedom from poverty. Ghana's leaders are governing justly, fighting corruption, and investing in their people. And America is proud to support these efforts through our Millennium Challenge Compact."
The Untied States has a five-year, $547 million compact with Ghana aimed at reducing poverty by raising agricultural incomes through private-sector-led development.
President Bush created the Millennium Challenge fund to redirect U.S. aid to countries that practice good governance, respect for the rule of law, open markets, and investment in health and education.
Commercial ties between Ghana and the United States are up more than 55 percent since President Bush and President Kufour took office - last year totaling more than $600 million.
President Kufour thanked the president for extending the African Growth and Opportunity Act, which allows Ghanaian businesses duty- and quota-free access to U.S. markets for more than six-thousand kinds of goods. He says the country is hoping for additional U.S. investment in Ghana's emerging oil sector after a U.S. firm made Ghana's first major find last year.
President Kufour says the enduring strength of his government is its commitment to good governance and its promotion of the private sector as the main engine for economic growth.
"These principles have gained for Ghana international recognition as a stable and transparent nation, attractive for increased economic investments and activities - and that translates into general improvements in the lives of her people," he said.
Both men are nearing the end of their presidencies with U.S. elections in November and Ghanaian elections in December.
President Bush says Ghana is in the middle of a lively election season marked by spirited debate and close-fought contests, similar to America's presidential race.
"Whatever the outcome, Ghana is showing Africa that democracy is not a challenge to be feared, but a sure path to prosperity and peace," he said. "Ghana and America stand as one in our work to promote peace. Ghana is a vital partner in our efforts to resolve the crisis in Darfur. Ghana has more than 3,000 peacekeepers serving around the world - from Liberia and the Congo to Kosovo and Georgia."
President Kufour says Ghana is committed to the rule of law and respect for the different cultures of democracy.
"My government is fully committed to supporting the conduct of a free and fair electoral process in the impending presidential and parliamentary elections this coming December, to which we welcome international observers," he said.
The president and Mrs. Bush will hold a state dinner in honor of Ghana's President and first lady, returning the courtesy shown Mr. and Mrs. Bush during their visit to Ghana in February.
At that dinner, President Kufour renamed a main road in the capital the George Bush Motorway.
Welcoming the president to the White House, Mr. Bush joked that he looks forward to visiting Accra again once he is out of office so he can see the highway without stopping so much traffic.

The British head of the U.N. Mine Action Program in southern Lebanon, Christopher Clark, and his 990-member team of mine clearers will receive the 2008 Nansen Refugee Award. The U.N. refugee agency says the prize recipients are being honored for their courageous work in clearing tons of deadly munitions leftover from Israel's war with the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah in the summer of 2006. Lisa Schlein reports from UNHCR headquarters in Geneva.

The war only lasted five weeks, but it caused incalculable damage. During that period, more than two million explosive bomblets from Israeli cluster munitions were scattered over southern Lebanon, according to the United Nations.
More than 750,000 Lebanese fled their homes in the south to safer places in the country and another quarter of a million people fled to Syria or further afield.
U.N. refugee spokeswoman Astrid Van Genderen Stort says it is thanks to Christopher Clark and his team of de-miners that these refugees and internally displaced people have been able to return to their land.
"It was very important for UNHCR because we could bring our refugees and internally displaced back in safety and dignity," said Astrid Van Genderen Stort. "Of course it is still something that is going on because clearing a big piece of land, the whole of southern Lebanon of so many bomblets is an incredible job and they are still ongoing with it. But in the meantime, hundreds of thousands of refugees and internally displaced have been able to return back."
In 2003, the U.N. Mine Action Program in southern Lebanon, headed by Christopher Clark, began clearing landmines, unexploded ordnance and other remnants of war left over from previous conflicts.
Genderen Stort tells VOA by July 2006, they had cleared most of southern Lebanon.
"And, then suddenly the war broke out and in a period of five weeks all the work that they had done, but, suddenly there were between 2.6 and four million new cluster bomblets, which is a totally different thing from landmines and unexploded ordnance," she said. "They look different. They are very small. They can hang in the trees. They can be hidden in the garden. In Lebanon, I saw a lot of the bomblets in the agricultural fields and tobacco fields and that is, of course. If people can return home, but they cannot work, they are basically blocked."
The Nansen Prize is named after Norwegian explorer, author and Nobel Laureate Fridtjof Nansen, who was the first High Commissioner for Refugees.
